Wadene Ivy, 83, of San Saba, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. She was born October 26, 1925 in San Saba, Texas, the daughter of Wade Hamilton Brown and Winnie Poynor Brown. Wadene Brown and Johnie B. Ivy were married in San Saba on August 29, 1942. She worked as a Food Service Director at San Saba ISD and attended the Baptist Church.
Wadene is survived by her son, Bob Ivy and his wife, Billie of Avondale, AZ; her grandchildren, Stacy Ann Happle and her husband, Dwayne; and Johnnie Aaron; her great-grandchildren, Autumn Wadene Reno, A. J. Paredez and Aaron Dailey Ivy, and her sister, Bertie Ann Potter of Boiser City, LA.
Wadene is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnie B. Ivy; one sister, Audrey Marie Brown Lively; and one great-granddaughter, Kamry Paredez.
Services were held Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Riley officiating. Interment followed at San Saba Cemetery.
The family received friends, Thursday, August 20, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
